“Masterpieces
of Polish painting in the Lvov
Art Gallery” The pictures gathered on that exhibition are
shown rarely. Some of them appear in Poland first time after a half of century.
This is a unique opportunity to see them, because Warsaw and Cracow are the
closest towns, where they will be presented. |

need to mention some of them: Jan Matejko, Marcello Bacciarelli, Artur
Grottger, Józef
Chełmoński, Julian Fałat, Aleksander Gierymski, Leon Wyczółkowski, Henryk
Siemiradzki…. The creators borrow themes from different religions. Henryk Siemiradzki shows a Bible scene Christ and the Samaritan Woman on the canvas in a masterly manner. | |

Tadeusz Ajdukiewicz painted the Bedouins during saying an evening’s namaz. Józef Brodowski immortalized the synagogue of Łańcut with the praying Jewish people. We can see
Jan Matejko among the masters of portrait. The portrait of the artist children
shows his two daughters Helena and Beata and two sons Tadeusz and Jerzy We will
see also likeness of the king Stanisław August Poniatowski painted by Marcello
Bacciarelli. There are the portraits of Olga Boznańska, Jacek Malczewski,
Alfons Karpiński on the exhibition, too. Landscapes The Snow of Julian
Fałat, The Moonlight Night of Józef Chełmoński and Oxes at the
Watering Trough of Leon Wyczółkowski are boasts of the Polish paintings
